Today I am so excited to introduce my guest, Jami Rice, host of the true crime podcast, Murderish. Jami lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband, three children, and two dogs. In 2017, she was the jury foreman on a first degree murder trial in Los Angeles County. Shortly after that trial concluded, Jami launched MURDERISH podcast as she wanted to share true crime cases with like-minded people. Her very first episode was a recounting of her experience being a juror on a murder trial. 0:06.6	appropriate to acknowledge what's happening in our world and the horrendous
0:14.8	situation that happened in Uvalde and all of the lives that were lost. I want to
0:22.0	send my condolences and my thoughts and my prayers to everyone involved all of
0:28.4	the families. I think it's without being said that this has touched everyone, the
0:35.7	entire world. And I think that we can all agree that no lives should be lost
0:41.8	in such a way. I don't like to speak politics on here. I never have. But I think
0:48.3	this goes beyond politics. I think this is just about humanity at this point.
0:52.1	And I'm not going to get into my views on any of this, but I do feel as though
0:59.0	something needs to change. I've posted it on my Instagram on ways that we can
1:05.0	help if that's something that you're interested in doing. If it's not and all
1:08.4	you want to do is pray, that's totally fine. If you feel like you need to do more,
1:12.1	that's great. There's definitely resources out there of places that you can
1:16.6	donate money. People you can call ways to make a difference. And I think that, you
1:23.9	know, it's so important that we all as one come together to make change. That's
1:31.8	the only way change happens. I think we can all agree with that. So if you say
1:37.1	that, oh, my one call isn't going to do anything or one, my one, you know, vote,
1:42.5	my one, this doesn't do anything. Then imagine if we all thought that the
1:47.0	nothing would change. We just let we just we be in a dictatorship. And we don't
1:52.6	want that. So your voice matters. And and I think that we are doing our kids
2:00.5	at disservice. And we're letting them down by not speaking up and not saying what
2:07.2	we think is the right thing to do. There's definitely more to do. And I hope
