Welcome to the Beginners Garden podcast. I'm Jill McShehehehe It is June, which means my kids are out of school,

and today is the first podcast I'm actually recording with them at home.

They're in the other room under strict orders to be as quiet as possible and hopefully I can

get this recorded and out to you without any major interruption. Of course my kids are bigger

so that's a little bit easier for me to do than several years ago for sure.

If you've listened to the podcast any length of time or you follow me on Instagram or read

any of my blog post then you know that vertical gardening is something that I have enjoyed so

much in my garden. From the very first year I knew knew I wanted to grow crops up, and I don't

really even know what brought that fascination to mind, especially as a beginner, but I am so

glad that I did. Over the years, I've tried several different methods, and I'm always trying

new ones, even this year. I've got some new things going on

and it's so much fun and I wanted to bring you an episode on vertical gardening that will help

you to incorporate some of these vertical gardening elements into your garden now at first glance

you might wonder why am I talking about this now and not before your season begins?

And one reason is because sometimes we get our best garden ideas in the middle of the gardening season,

when everything is growing and we would be like, well, I wish this would have happened, or I wish I would have this.

But even beyond that that it's not too

late to build a trellis for certain crops and to incorporate vertical gardening in

your summer garden and even your fall garden so really now is a good time

almost a perfect time in a way to begin thinking about how you want to incorporate vertical gardening.
