Welcome to the Hunt Backcountry podcast. This is episode number 539, and it is something a bit different.

I am going solo today after recently getting back from my first hunt of the fall, which was a bear hunt with a couple of guys up in Washington.

It was my first time hunting in Washington. It was my first time hunting in Washington.

It's my first time hunting bears in the fall. And it was the first time hunting with Shane

and Clint. So a lot of firsts for me. And something we've talked about on the podcast is to take

notes during a hunt or immediately

following a hunt and just document things you learned, gear changes you may consider for the future,

things you may need to replenish from your list.

And I was doing that as I was traveling back home and thought that some of the

takeaways from this hunt may be worth sharing.

And then there was also some new gear that I was able to try a little bit.

And we get so many questions on that.

I thought maybe some of that was worth diving into.

So this is definitely just a very

informal podcast, something we've never done. But after I went through and made all of my notes,

I thought, nah, why not? Let's just share it. And so I'm doing that quickly, hopefully quickly

in today's podcast, but also we'll say that all this is kind of
