But this assignment for the church to engage our culture, because it seems to be widely

debated.

I've been invited to speak in dozens of places to hundreds of

pastors on this topic. And there's one set of voices that said we should do polite

Bible studies and talk about the culture of the first century and be quiet about the

world in which we live. And there's another set of voices that say almost the opposite. and be

quiet about the world in which we live.

And there's another set of voices that say almost the opposite,

that we have an assignment to be salt and light.

I believe that's more biblically accurate.

It's not about political parties or candidates, but it's very much about a worldview and

the values which shape the culture in which we live and if our faith and our

voice is in shaping the culture we have abandoned our assignment.
