Well, let me ask you, did you get the talk when you were little?

Do you remember how it went?

I think some women, if they're lucky, they received the most basic explanation of female sexuality

with probably a few words about pregnancy and menstruation, followed by a quick wrap-up.

Well, thanks to today's guest, I'm learning that for many men, the sex talk was even more bare bones, as short as just passing a condom or a quick don't get a girl pregnant.

Sam Jalman is my guest today, and Sam is a licensed professional counselor and the author of the book The Sex Talk You Never Got, Reclaiming the Heart of Masculine Sexuality.

Over his years as a counselor, Sam has worked with many men navigating marital issues

and sexual abuse recovery. As you'll hear, he has discovered that a lot of men were not

given the tools they needed to develop a healthy, more complete view of sexuality.

This is a conversation that I think is going to be healing for a lot of us, both men and

women.
