Gary grew up in the Bay Area in the 70's and fell in love with Hard Rock guitar players like Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker and Ted Nugent.

Gary started going out to clubs and seeing shows where he eventually met Kirk Hammett at an early Exodus show. They quickly became friends and soon Gary found himself in Exodus.
