0:45.8	lore type stories that I don't think we've covered in much detail. This is probably as in depth
0:52.9	beyond just like a passing comment or like talking
0:56.7	with a guest briefly about this particular story, but it is one of those true crime moments that
1:01.7	set a tone and set a certain standard for coverage, media coverage, how the public and law
1:08.6	enforcement reacted to it. But Tim, I got to react to your mood.

1:14.5	Thanks a lot for asking.
1:16.2	And yeah, today we are speaking about Elizabeth Short, a woman who was found murdered in
1:22.9	Los Angeles on January 15, 1947.
1:31.4	And if her name doesn't sound familiar to you yet, it's because she is more commonly known by her nickname, the Black Dahlia. And so we are going to speak about
1:38.6	Elizabeth Short's case with a new friend of mine. Her name is Marisa Alanese.
1:45.1	And I worked with her recently at a quick temporary gig.
1:49.5	And we spoke about a play that she wrote.
1:52.9	The play is called Elizabeth.
1:54.8	And it is about Elizabeth Short and her murder.
1:58.6	And she really tries to sort of re-center Elizabeth as the focus of the
2:04.2	story and also a female journalist, Agnes Underwood. And so in this interview, we speak a bit
2:11.7	about Marisa's play. We also speak about Elizabeth's life and really what happened to her.
