I still remember where I bought that.

It was because I was in grade nine. I bought it in the future shop that was at Crossroads Plaza.

Does that exist anymore? Future Shop? No, no. Future Shop went out of business. I'm very sorry to report.

But Future Shop at Crossroads Plaza is where I got my first DVD player in the year in 1999.

I saved my money all summer to get it.

This isn't an interesting story.

It's just a, it meant a lot to me.

Well, the fact that you remember it, I guess mystery science theater is the most potent sense, you know, linked to memory.

I basically did not have TV growing up apart from a few channels. I've heard a rumor that you grew up

rural. Is that true? You grew up in rural Ontario? Can confirm. And my parents claimed that we were too distant to get cable.

I think maybe they were just too stingy to get cable.

And then, you know, there's also satellite and that was never explored, I feel.
