On this episode, the Symbolic World Podcast, I will play for you a panel discussion I had at

Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto. The panel was called Faith in Art, and it was with

a Phil Irish, a contemporary visual artist, and Gloria Kim, who is a cinematographer. And the

discussion really surrounded about how to integrate faith with art, how can a Christian

make art.

And I think that this discussion is very important because when you listen to the different

approaches, you will really find the radical difference between modern art, contemporary

art, and the liturgical approach, which I am

representing in this discussion. And so I think that it ends up being a very interesting

dive into how deep the differences are in the traditional way of looking at art and the modern

way of looking at art. And so I hope you enjoy.

I'd just like to welcome you on behalf of Wycliffe College, an Amago, to our Faith and Arts evening. I hope this will be

the first of many opportunities for people to gather to explore the dynamics of faith and the arts.

Tonight we are privileged to have three wonderful Christian artists to share a little bit about how faith informs

and affects their art forms. And afterwards, we are inviting everybody to continue on to

Nui Blanche the public art exposition here in the city. Just by ways of introduction, I want to introduce each of our panelists today.

So on the far right, we have Jonathan Pajot.

Jonathan graduated with honors from painting and drawing program at Concordia University in
