Summary

Hello and welcome to episode 52 of The Mindful Kind podcast!

In this episode, discover how to use mindfulness to face your fears.

This is a gentle and kind approach to addressing fears- this is not an episode about feeling the fear and doing it anyway (at least, not at first!).

You'll discover a few of my own fears about snakes and public speaking (and more!) and how I've used mindfulness to face up to those things.

A few tips for facing your fears using mindfulness:

- Take small steps towards facing your fears and listen for when it becomes too much

- Urge surf to let go of irrational, fearful reactions

- Be aware of your self-talk and adjust it to suit you (know which thoughts help you and which ones don't!)

- Use your breath to reduce fear

- Have a plan for self-care and mindfulness after you've faced your fear. Be kind to yourself and try to decrease rumination.

And finally, please reach out for more help if you need it in facing your fears.

Hello and welcome to episode 52 of the Mindful Kind podcast. Today I'm talking about how we can use mindfulness to face our fears, both big and small. I'll be sharing quite a few personal stories which I really hope might show you different ways you could face your own fears or maybe feel inspired to make a few changes in your own life even if you do feel a bit

scared about those changes. Now I just want to explain a little more about the message of this

episode before we get into it. I've often heard the saying feel the fear and do it anyway.

That is not what this episode is about. I don't want you to

listen and then feel like you need to dive straight into doing something that really scares you or

1:19.1

makes you feel super uncomfortable. This episode is about gently and lovingly letting yourself

explore outside your comfort zone, to be kind with

1:29.1

yourself talk and to feel proud of yourself for taking little steps towards facing your fears.
