The Hello and welcome to me in the episode number 519 of real life ghost stories.

And I have two spooky stories for you today.

And the last story comes from the 25th of January, 2026.

And story number one today comes from Gary. Unfortunately, my desired to go

camping was forever soured at a very young age. I'd always loved the idea of sleeping beneath the

stars and simply living with the land, just as my distant relatives in the Netherlands had, so often done in the

past. The fresh air, the exercise, the wonderful ability to just get back to nature, as they say,

was always very appealing to me. Until some crazy shit happened, that is. Some friends and I had

decided to go to a nearby nature preserve and campground,

so we could pitch some tents and enjoy a couple of evenings together, gathered around the campfire to just sit and talk about our lives and where we were all at with everything.

Sounds like a great idea, right?

Up to that point, I'd probably gone camping like five or six times before experiencing

this cataclysmic event. What happened to me that night completely changed my opinion about

and willingness to go camping in the woods at night under the cover of darkness. Sometimes a

traumatic event like this can be so joltingly extreme and blow your mind so badly that it completely reprograms your brain.

Case in point, this latest camping trip that I'd gone on with my friends.

We'd had a great day of hiking as well as fishing and swimming in a nearby river,

and we're really looking forward to spending another one of our classic nights around the campfire. Once the fire was lit and all the lawn chairs set up around it,

the festivities began. Cold beer, warm friendships and the really fun part, cool stories. Sounds like

a hallmark greeting card, doesn't it? And along with the drinking of several beers naturally,

there comes the voiding of these fluids in the woods. No shiny bathroom, no stinky outhouse,
