| 0:41.0 | Hey there, it's Trish Blackwell, and you're listening to the Confidence Podcast. This is episode 516. And so an episode that was requested by a listener, and I think it's going to resonate with a lot of us. |
| 0:55.0 | We're talking today about being different. We're talking about dealing with loneliness. We're talking about how to be confident while being different and correcting your mind to stay in your life, in your lane, |
| 1:09.0 | so that you live your own life well, and you don't listen to that self-doubting, self-challenging narrative that something's wrong with you, that you don't belong, or that you're the black sheep, or that people don't get you, because we're all different. |
| 1:26.0 | And it's a difference that is good. There's this beautiful tapestry of humanity that God has created, and we are interwoven together, and your unique thread, your unique string, your unique color, it's needed. |
| 1:42.0 | We're going to talk about loneliness, because feeling different, feeling on the outside, feeling like everyone else has their life together, and you don't feeling that you're the only awkward one, feeling that you're the only one that over thinks things, that isolation, what does it do? Well, it creates loneliness. |
| 2:01.0 | And that lonely narrative, that lonely story that we tell ourselves can get really, really toxic. It can be very, very isolating, and it can intensify negative emotions and feelings that you already have. |
| 2:18.0 | We're going to close out today's coaching with creating hope and purpose for when you do feel down, because here is the truth, the human experience has loneliness, the being human, and the brain that you have means that you're going to feel different sometimes, you're going to feel socially awkward, you're going to feel on the outskirts, and that is okay. |
| 2:44.0 | And how when you are feeling low, can we operate in a way that we remind ourselves when we remind our brain that there is hope and that we do have purpose? How do you generate positive hope when you feel in the dumps, or you might not even identify as feeling in the dumps, but just feeling blah, right? |
| 3:04.0 | And maybe you're listening and it's a rainy day, and you've gotten bad health news about a family member, and then you look around and you say, I have a good life, why am I not enjoying it? And I just want to, when I start off, before we even go into the coaching today, to remind you that when it comes to your emotions, it's really, really important to not operate from a place of self-judgment. |
| 3:25.0 | The more we judge ourselves for the feelings that we have and the thoughts that we have, the more stuck you will stay in those thoughts and new feelings. |
| 3:34.0 | Period. And so the self-judgment creates a spiral that creates self-sabotage, shame, and being stuck or stagnant. Now, instead of self-judgment, if you go to a place of self-curiosity and self-compassion, that is where you create change, and that's why we can create hope and purpose, even when we're down, as long as we don't go to judgment or pointing at ourselves and saying, I shouldn't feel this way. |
| 4:03.0 | You feel how you feel, and we can honor that, and we don't have to camp out in it. Okay, I'm getting ahead of myself, before we go into the coaching today, let's talk about the review of the week. |
| 4:13.0 | It is from Em Gabrielle in 1924. She said, a light in my day. I was introduced to this podcast through a friend, and over time, it has helped me to catch and adjust the thoughts and beliefs that aren't serving me. |
| 4:25.0 | When I'm having a hard day or feeling down, your podcast is my go-to. The episodes provide an avenue for me to reframe my circumstances. Thank you, Trish. Em Gabrielle, girl. Thank you. Thank you for writing the review. Thank you for sharing the feedback. Thank you for sharing the show with friends. Thank you to your friend who shared the show, and I'm proud of you. |
| 4:46.0 | The more I love what you said, the more you have practiced catching and adjusting the thoughts, the more powerful you've been in being able to do it. |
| 4:56.0 | And so the more you do that, the better you're going to be able to continually reframe your circumstances to offer yourself just a different way to think. |
| 5:04.0 | It's not that we're pretending those circumstances are different. We're just allowing ourselves to remind our brains that there's multiple ways to look at what we're working through. |
| 5:14.0 | Okay, let's dive into the coaching, being different, being the auto and out. It's not easy being different. |
