Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff.

Today I'm going to talk about the correlation between kindness, innocence, and happiness.

0:17.5

First, what do I mean by innocence? Think of the innocence of a young child or a puppy. What comes to

0:25.7

mind? Perhaps a sense of defenselessness, definitely a sense of they aren't going to hurt you, and a sense

0:32.5

that they're just beautiful creatures that you want to love and cuddle. We all love new puppies. And when a baby's being

1:25.5

walked around them, they would feed them, they were respectful,

1:28.5

and there were millions of them. But yet I never saw anyone be mean towards them or hurt them.

1:33.2

They just loved them. So with innocence comes purity, comes beauty, comes love. And when we see

1:41.1

people hurting innocence, those are the people that we often in our world despise the most.

1:46.8

If a soldier gets killed, that's one thing, but if a child, an infant, is killed, that's a very different story.

1:54.3

For the majority of the people on our planet, if we stay healthy, our hearts are just wired to protect, to love innocence. If a young child

2:05.3

or an innocent baby is abused, it can sometimes make national news because how people really don't

2:12.5

like it when innocence is hurt. We're just wired to naturally protect the innocent. I remember once being
