And we're talking about the EFL, about the football league.

We're also going to very briefly touch on the FA Cup first round, but

mostly this week. Well, after a weekend where it was just the championship in league action,

we're considering why it is such a glorious football division. This weekend, we had Burton and

Bolton, written off by many, probably including ourselves, winning.

We had young teams and players impressing with exciting performances from Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Barnsley and Bristol City.

We had Reading and Ipswich as good as battering Derby and Preston.

As a league, it continues to excite and confound in equal measure, incredibly hard to punt on.

That's for sure.

Oh, I forgot a classy four-goal haul from Leon Clark, the first four-goal hall in the championship

since Odea Nigalo in 2015.

And George, in the last few weeks, it feels like it's been heating up a little bit.

I thought that the league was slow to get

going this year and slow to start spotting trends. Maybe I was just being slow because the last

few weeks we've had a lot of games, a couple of double game weeks, and it's hard to keep up. But,

God, it's exciting, isn't it? Yeah, I think that the league is taking shape, as you say.
