Welcome to the Jay Scott Outdoors podcast. Today I'm actually driving out to sheep camp and I got Bob Dykeman of Shadow Valley Outfitters on the line and Bob just had a awesome hunt up on the

strip in 13b and I'm excited to hear about it Bob how you doing I'm doing good today how are you?

Great you know it's been a while since I've had you on the podcast but I always

admire you guys work and the amount of effort that you guys put in on your

hunt.

It looks like this latest strip hunt was another exceptional performance by you guys.

Talk a little bit about before, we'll get into all the details, but talk a little bit

about the 13B, the conditions going into the hunt, your expectations, I'm not sure if you were

up there, archery season, but kind of the gist of your thoughts going into the season up there in 13b.

Yeah, yeah, so we actually did have an archery hunter a real good friend of mine

Mark Van Warmer he had that archery a real good friend of mine, Mark Lane warmer.

He had that archery guy and he grew it with, you know, eight points or so.

And I spent, I spent a bunch of time up there scouting

prior to that, huh? you know, probably 20 days or so, or close to it.

And, you know, we don't run the cameras like all them other guys do, we'll put, I don't know, shoot 40 of them out or something

like that, which is, you know, quite a few, but nothing compared to the hundreds.

So, you know, we knew it was going to be tough just with the conditions from the spring.

Went out there, you know, and I had actually talked to Mark about turning his tag back in.

We already had two rifle guys that had Max Points as resident.

We had them turn those tags back in.

And then we had a couple clients for the rifle hunt, but it all started really on that archery hunt.

We really didn't have a big buck to go after.
