Good morning, my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. I hope you are ready to get

your mind aligned with the truth of God for this day. This day, don't worry about tomorrow, don't worry about the next week.

Let's just focus on today.

Most recently, we have been going through the book Humility, written by Andrew Murray,

and we've come to a chapter that perhaps is one of the most difficult

chapters in the book at least in my opinion this chapter is entitled humility

and death to self.

We don't like that word death.

We really don't like that word.

It's one of the things that is the most scary thing to us.

And death to self sounds a little more scary in some ways because it sounds like an intentional

thing to me.

It sounds like I am choosing to die to myself and that is exactly what Andrew Murray is saying in this chapter.

So strap on your seat bell, get ready to hear some very hard truths that are essential

to the way that we grow in humility.

He begins with Philippians chapter 2, verse number 8, and it is a very well-known passage in Christian

circles speaking about Jesus, and it says he humbled himself and became obedient unto death.

Now if we know the story of Jesus we know what that means. It is a very literal

sentence. It is a very literal sentence.

It is speaking about him humbling himself

in the sense of humbling himself to the plan of his father

to the point that he was willing to die on the cross.
