You got to do the thing that only you can do.

And so I think the stoic focus is totally on this.

As soon as you hand over your definition of success to an outcome that's beyond you,

that's misery.

The recognition that most people are chasing in their field is fundamentally not up to them.

And then this is why they wake up and they're frustrated, they're upset,

and they feel discriminated against or screwed over because they've handed the definition of success over to someone else

and turns out that other person isn't going to be able to shoot about you.

Right, so I agree when you kind of like outsource success to some committees determination, that's a problem.

But let's say you're in the middle, that you're in the middle of the war.

And you know, the outcome is very important to you.

It seems when you're in the trenches in the war and yes, you can do the best you can do today.

That's all you can really do.

But it's hard to kind of, it's sort of like this muscle of stoicism.
