Hello heroes and welcome to a very special episode of One Shot. I'm James Damato, your host and GameMaster.

Heroes nearly 10 years ago, well it will actually be 10 years in August, I started a podcast with a very simple concept.

We would record actual plays of as many different role-playing systems as possible,

touring each of those systems in self-contained one-shot

adventures.

And at the table I would have improvisers and comedians playing these games with me so that

they were a little bit more entertaining than the actual play that was around at that time,

which was a very, very different time for actual play.

These days, while there aren't actually that many shows like one shot,

there are a lot of shows that approach role playing in a similar way.

Using these wonderful games as tools and sophisticated improv forms

for creating entertainment.

And I think that's a really lovely thing.

In all that time, I've had the great privilege of playing some truly wonderful games

and meeting some extraordinary people.

At times running the show has been difficult,

but it has always been rewarding,

and I wouldn't trade my experience doing it for anything.
