So, Kim, thanks so much for joining us here on The Edge of Sports Podcast.

Absolutely.

Yeah, I want to break it down for my listeners who might be very new to the topic.

So can you start by just telling us in most basic form, what is Title IX?

Yeah, sure. So I've been doing a lot of Title IX explaining in this 50th anniversary year, and I like to break it down for folks. Basically, it is a 37-word statute

passed in 1972, 50 years ago, bipartisan effort, recognizing that there was a lot of gender

inequity in federally funded education. And we needed a provision to deal with that. So it's a, it's a federal law that applies to any federally funded education, and we needed a provision to deal with that.

So it's a federal law that applies to any federally funded educational institution,

from preschool to elementary, middle, high school, college, and university, academics, and athletics,

anything under that educational rubric, and it says you can't be gender discriminatory in your

administration of education. So that's that's Title IX in a nutshell. And of course, there's

lots of specifics and regulations that have been passed since 1972. But that that is it in a very
