You're a real elder and you understand people and you've been at this since, what is it, 1970 something?

1972. When I was born is there wow yeah so you've been a therapist since 1972 or you've been uh kind of a healer helper since then

1972 is kind of when I transitioned into my life as a therapist,

having gone through eight years of seminary training prior to that.

And not being ordained, even though I was groomed to be a priest for about 20 years.

And it dawned on me one day that this is not going to work.

Salivacy is not going to work well for me.

So I transitioned into this, into casework originally, social services, and I felt I was doing a lot of therapy there.

We didn't use that word.

That only became a sophisticated word later on, but helping and being available and being present to people who were hurting and caring and struggling and wanted a witness.

And, you know, it's what really introduced me after four years of social work,

then really opening private practice and all of that.
