pulse of Modern Medicine Insights from NIH Experts Programs. This of course is a five-part program designed to provide a unique

glimpse into the efforts of the NIH. We'll learn from NIH scientific and medical

experts about what is currently hot in biomedical research, the science behind it, and most importantly, what it means to our health, the medical treatment we receive today and in the future.

We're joined today by Dr Anthony Fauchy.

While many in our not old Better Show audience will know Dr. Fauchy, many Americans may never have heard of him but his work affects

tens of millions of people. Dr. Fauchy is considered the United States' top doctor when it comes to infectious diseases.

He leads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases team

at the United States National Institutes of Health.

There, Dr. Fauchy and his team investigate emerging diseases like Zika and Ebola.

And Dr. Fauchy also leads research into diseases HIV AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria and allergies.

Dr. Fauchy likes talking about science to the general public in a way they can understand

in and in a way they can understand why it is important to support it.
