These novels and films have spurred a lot of conversation in question as about erotica.

And today we're going to address that topic head on. Fifty Shades

of Grays and Erotic Romance novel written by E.L. James and released in 2011. In six short years,

the 50 Shades trilogy sold over 125 million copies, got picked up for film by Universal

Pictures, and changed the conversation about sex in many circles.

For those who don't know the premise, it's the story of a college-aged girl who hooks up with a billionaire businessman,

who then introduces her to the world of BDSM. BDSM stands for bondage, discipline dominance,

submission sadomasochism, and masochism.

The 50 Shades series has helped to mainstream the entire genre of erotic romance,

and more importantly, mainstream sexual practices that were before considered kinky and vulgar.

At the time when the series was catching fire and after the release of the first film,

many Christian authors and speakers

tackled this subject, but it's been kind of quiet for a while. With the release of the
