Hey, everybody. We've got a great one today, you know, for a change. And this time, this time I really mean it. My guest is Michael Mann, Nobel Prize recipient for his work in climate science. And in light of what happened in Texas. He is a very timely

guest, I would say. Actually, I taped the bulk of this conversation before that event. See, I actually

had suspected that climate change was a real thing even before that happened in Texas. So I asked Michael to come back after Texas to explain the polar vortex, and you'll hear

that part first.

Michael is a great guest.

This is his second time on the podcast, and I know you'll find this very helpful, actually,

in your understanding of what he calls the new climate war,

which is the name of his new book.

And it's basically about how a lot of climate deniers have sort of just given up the ghost,

finally, on denying climate change and have been engaging in some other tactics,

including saying, well, you know, it's hopeless.

We really can't do anything about it at this point.

So, yeah, give up.

Of course, one of the sensational things that came out of this Texas debacle was the Ted Cruz fiasco.

Now, what kind of irks me about that is the extent to which that detracts from his part in the January 6th riot at the Capitol.

Cruz was one of the leaders in the Senate of the attempt to stop the certification of the election on January 6th. And he did that along

with Josh Hawley and Ron Johnson and actually 10 other Republican senators and a majority, a large majority of House Republicans,

and it was all a lie.

And it led to the tragic events of that day.

And Cruz should be held responsible.
