What's up everyone? Welcome back to the podcast. Today we're talking about how to make

0:04.2

a pathos plant fuller or busier. A lot of people really love the trailing or

0:08.8

vining aspect of a path, but then equally some other people love the fact that they look like huge bushes

0:15.8

full of large leaves and just very, very vibrant vigorous growth.

0:20.5

So whichever way you like it, there's a way to make your plant grow that way and all it really takes is just a little bit of plant knowledge.

0:27.5

So the first thing, we're going to go over five tips here. The first thing to look at is proper pruning techniques.

0:34.1

If you're caring for a pathos plant for a long time

0:37.3

or you have it for a long time,

0:39.2

oftentimes you will not care for it perfectly throughout its entire one, two, three years, right?

0:47.0

And so the first thing to look at is properly pruning the plant.

0:51.0

It's very similar to how you would prune any other plant that you want to

0:55.3

bush up, let's say a basil, for example. So what you'll want to do is look for vines that the

1:01.7

distance between leaf nodes really starts to stretch out.

1:05.0

And that's an indication that the plant wants to reach more towards the light

1:10.0

and it's just not getting those growing requirements.

1:12.7

So what you can do here is you can go ahead and prune some of these straggly looking vines.

1:18.3

It's going to make the plant look a little bit more compact,

1:20.5

but it's also going to bush it out because you can get a split growth right similar to how like a

1:26.4

basal might grow and so what I'd like to do here is I like to prune just after a leaf node, not before.

1:34.8

Because if you prune before,

1:36.0

you're just leaving a bit of bare stem

1:37.4

where nothing's going to grow.
