In this podcast, Dr. Berg talks about the 5 types of people who should not do intermittent fasting.

1. Pregnant – 3 meals a day / no snacking/ Make sure not to restrict the calories (nutrient-dense).

2. Nursing – Make sure not to deprive the mother of all the nutrients.

3. Thin people with neurodegeneration (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s) – 3 meals a day / 10 grams of carbs or less

4. Babies / Small Children – Sweets are not recommended as well.

5. Eating Disorders (anorexia, bulimia)

Other Health Problems:

Hypoglycemia – Frequency of eating is causing the problem with blood sugar. It will spike insulin. The ultimate solution to this is intermittent fasting done in a gradual way with a lot of healthy nutrient-dense foods and healthy fats.

Anxiety – Stress will go down when you do intermittent fasting by supporting the adrenal glands.

Sleep Disorders - Intermittent fasting supports your brain. The need for sleep goes down. Intermittent fasting together with healthy keto is really good for sleep apnea.

Women / Hormone Problems – Intermittent fasting helps with PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Kito and Interminute fasting podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weight. Hey guys, today we're going to talk about the five types of people who should not be doing

0:47.7

intimate fasting.

0:48.7

Now, all of these groups right here should be doing healthy keto. Okay? Now when I talk about

0:55.2

fasting I'm talking about at least like two meals a day, no snacks. If you're doing

0:59.8

three meals a day, even no snacks, I'm not going to consider that intimate fasting,

1:04.9

because you're doing three meals, okay? I mean, you're avoiding snacks, okay, so you could maybe call that

1:10.4

intimate fasting, but I'm not going to classify that as intermittent fasting.

1:14.8

Now if you're pregnant I recommend you do three meals a day and of course I wouldn't

1:18.9

recommend snacking and we want to make sure we don't restrict the calories and make sure it's nutrient-dense just because we want to make sure it's nutrient dense.

1:24.2

Just because we want to make sure that we don't deprive

1:26.9

that mother of any nutrients at all.

1:29.4

Okay, same thing goes with nursing.

1:31.8

I don't recommend intimate fasting, I would recommend three meals, no snacks.

1:36.1

Because the infant is taking a lot of nutrition from the mother, we don't want to deprive

1:39.8

the mother of any nutrients.

1:41.8

Okay, number three, thin people with neurodegeneration. And I'm talking about if you

1:47.4

have Alzheimer's or Parkinson's and you're very, very frail and thin, if you do an intimate fasting that could be a problem. So I would recommend

1:56.1

three meals a day and bring the carbs down to 10 grams or less of carbohydrate, not 20 to 50.

2:06.4

We're to bring the carbs down
