Coming to you with another episode of the Founders Journal, My Daily Diary that I've made public

for you to learn as I learn about the biggest occurrences in my day as a first time founder.

Today we're talking about the five different employees in a startup and how you should think about scaling your company and what sort of employees

you want to add as you grow. Let's hop into it. So if you listen to the Founders

Journal yesterday, something that you may have heard me talk about was this idea of a factory line and how you can think about your company as something that is analogous to a factory line where the factory is your business, you have multiple factory lines, each of those

factory lines is a different product that you are creating for your audience within the broader

factory and on the factory line you have different responsibilities.

You have the supplier that's giving you the raw materials, you have the actual process on the

factory line that's been built to turn the raw materials into the final good.

You have the factory line workers that are helping push that process forward.

And then you have the distribution or the distributor that is taking that

end product and selling it to the world. And I thought that analogy made a lot of

sense but it didn't feel fully refined and so I spent more time thinking

about it today.

And I thought about our own company.

And what are the type of employees we have?

What type of workers do we have?

And I started thinking about what are the,

kind of like what are the dominant traits of any professional and I narrow down to five.

So I believe that there are five traits that every professional has.
