This one is for the person who keeps starting and stopping. You want more energy, you want to feel better in your body, you want to finally be consistent. But it never sticks. In this episode, Ben breaks down why that happens, and what actually changes it. The truth? It was never a discipline problem. It's a self-trust problem. Every time you break a promise to yourself, you chip away at your identity. Change the self-image first, and the habits follow. The 5 habits Ben swears by: The kitchen is closed. No food at least 3 hours before bed. No snacking between meals. A 15-minute walk after your biggest meal of the day. 10 minutes of morning sunlight. Waiting 90 minutes for your first coffee. What we get into: Why motivation always disappears (hint: it's a symptom, not the source) and why inspiration beats it every time The start-stop cycle, and why people repeat it for years without breaking free How your body communicates through symptoms, and why those symptoms are a gift, not the problem Why perfectionism is just a fancy word for procrastination How small tweaks lead to giant peaks, and why doing less consistently beats doing everything at once One line to remember:It's not about knowing the right habits. It's about becoming the person who actually does them. Start with one: the kitchen is closed. Ready to finally lose the fat for good? All right, in today's episode, we are talking about how to stay consistent, what kind of habits work.

0:05.7

For the people that always fall off, like me, I kind of have a selfish interest here in this

0:10.8

interview with you, Ben, because I'm always going in and out of this roller coaster, right?

0:14.7

I can't maintain that health consistently. And I look at you and I go, man, this guy's consistent.

0:20.4

Like, you show up consistently, you take care of your health consistently. Your routines are working. Your habits are working. But for somebody like me and everybody listening, we go through this roller coaster. Right. And so today we want to dive into what are the habits that are working for you. What can I do more consistently? What can we all do more consistently to get the results, to have that energy, to have that confidence, to really feel like this is the body that I enjoy living in versus the one that I look at and I go, I got work to do. Right. So we're going to talk about these habits. And the thing is it never really sticks for a lot of people. Right. We start the routine. Like it's a Monday. I'm going to start that health routine.

And then by Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, we've already fallen off.

1:02.0

Right. So let's look at that. Let's look at what habits work. What habits don't work?

1:07.0

What are the consistent habits that you have in your life that is actually getting you

1:12.2

the results? And I see it in you. I see that health and thy vitality in you. And I want to ask this

1:17.8

major question, which is, why do so many people get started in the health, but then they fall off?

1:24.3

This is me for 24 years of my life. Yes, I was, a lot of people know my story. I was obese

1:30.0

physically, but they don't realize I was also obese mentally. I felt like my body was betraying me.

1:36.4

And I had that sort of mindset, okay, Monday I'm going to start this diet. And I was good Monday,

1:42.0

maybe even all until Friday. And then I would have a meal that was not consistent with this new goal I set. And then I would say, okay, I screwed up Friday, let me just screw up the rest of the weekend, then I'll restart again on Monday, right? So I use that as an excuse to justify, just eat bad for the rest of the weekend. Monday you restart. And I remember I kept doing this. It was like taking

2:00.9

one step forward, two steps back. And I realized there's something going on here that I haven't

2:06.4

figured out yet. And I had relied on my woolpower so much, my discipline so much. I was in a lot of

2:12.9

pain going for a really bad break about, you know, I was depressed. That kind of just grit my way through

2:18.7

things. So I forced some results, and I did get some results. Weight was coming off. I was

2:22.8

forcing it. It wasn't happening naturally. And I remember, I would lose 20, 30 pounds. Like, I would

2:29.8

force that weight off. And I remember starting to see my abs in the mirror. Not clearly, but they were

2:34.4

starting to see those lines defined. I'm sure people who've lost away have seen that. It's really

2:38.5

exciting. But I remember looking in the mirror and still seeing obese Ben, even when abs were starting
