Special Counsel David Weiss has indicted President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden on three gun-related charges.

The charges include making false statements on a federal gun form and possession of a firearm

as a prohibited person.

Hunter Biden lied about being a drug user on a federal form when he bought a

gun in 2018, even though he was battling a crack cocaine addiction, according to the

indictment against him. If convicted on all counts according to court filings, he could

face as much as 25 years in prison and up to 750,000 dollars in fines. Hunter Biden has

been summoned to make his first court appearance, but a date hasn't been set yet.

Hunter Biden had previously reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to two federal tax misdemeanors,

and in exchange drop a felony gun possession charge in two years.

But the deal collapsed over the summer.

CNN's Evan Perez notes a book that Hunter Biden wrote that possibly made the case easier for investigators to bring.

He discussed his own struggles with drug issues and he talked about it at about the time when he possessed his firearm and that really what it did is it it drew the attention of

Investigators at the the Bureau of Alcohol Firearms, who already were kind of looking

into some of this issues and really cemented the idea that he should not have been able

to buy this firearm. President Joe Biden spoke at a community college in Maryland today,

once again drawing a line between what the White House is calling

Baidonomics and Magonomics.
