December 13th. The families of the eight American hostages held by Hamas in Gaza praised

the Biden administration after meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House.

We felt that, and we felt before and we were only reinforced in seeing and believing that we could have no better friend in Washington or in the White

House than President Biden himself and his administration. That's Jonathan

Dekohen, the father of a 35-year-old son who was captured by Hamas on October 7th.

He says he and the other families have been in constant contact with U.S. officials.

This comes as Hamas has been unresponsive at mediators' attempts to get hostage negotiations back on track,

according to a source familiar with the efforts.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military says nine of its soldiers were killed in a battle with Hamas

fighters in northern Gaza Tuesday.
