The White House is struggling to explain President Joe Biden's recent criticism of Israel.

At a campaign reception on Tuesday, Biden said that Israel is starting to lose global

support because of the quote, indiscriminate bombing in Gaza.

Reporters pressed National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby about the comments today.

Despite Biden's use of indiscriminate, Kirby emphasized that the administration does

see Israel's intent to minimize civilian deaths.

Kirby said US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will discuss reducing harm to civilians in his visit to Israel on Thursday.

with officials.

Kirby says Sullivan will address the issue of aid reaching Gaza and the next phase of the

military campaign.
