Summary

This week had its fair share of small, annoying instances. (Don't they all?) The intercom/buzzer in my building went out, and I didn't know. This caused a slew of packages to be returned to sender. Funnily enough, the technician that came to fix it actually gave me an important reminder, which I'm sharing today on 5-MINUTE FRIDAY.

PROMPT: What’s one thing you can do for someone else today? Why did you choose this person?

Hey, Hurdlers, Emily Abadi here, bringing you another installment of five five minute Friday. I don't know about you, but I am so, so ready for the long holiday weekend. Little housekeeping note, Hurtle will be coming out first thing on Tuesday morning. And then the cadence will be back to normal, back to your regularly scheduled

0:40.2

programming. Regularly is a hard word to say well. Okay, now that we have taken care of that note,

0:48.8

for this week's weekly hurdle, I'm actually mixing it up a little bit. Usually I correlate

0:53.6

between the weekly hurdle newsletter, if you are it up a little bit. Usually I correlate between the weekly

0:55.2

hurdle newsletter if you are a subscriber. If not, head on over to the show notes. Click the link

1:00.1

to subscribe and get that in your inbox every single Friday. I usually correlate between

1:05.0

the weekly hurdle newsletter and five minute Fridays here on the hurdle feed wherever you get your podcasts. But this week,

1:12.4

I'm mixing it up. For the newsletter this week, I am chatting all about my go-to sneakers,

1:18.7

the styles that I cannot live without, the ones that I love. But I thought that rambling about

1:23.9

that here might have not been the best format. So if you want to know about my

1:29.4

go-to sneaker picks, you want to know what's in my rotation, why it is that I love them,

1:34.0

definitely click on over to the weekly hurdle. Over here, however, I decided this week to share

1:40.0

a quick story about what was going on in my apartment this week. Nothing too scandalous, I promise.

1:49.1

However, I was working on Wednesday when I realized that I had received a few emails letting me know

1:57.6

that packages were trying to be delivered to my building, which doesn't have a

2:02.4

doorman. And usually when there is a delivery person downstairs, they will press the buzzer.

2:08.8

I'll get a notification up here. I'll let them in. It's easy, breezy. Well, turns out I came to

2:16.0

learn that since Sunday, my buzzer had been broken, which means that it

2:22.0

wasn't functioning properly. Anyone trying to contact me from downstairs, couldn't get through.

2:26.6

I wasn't getting notifications. And man, it was frustrating. And it was frustrating because,

2:32.2

yeah, like you want to know what's happening in your own

2:34.8

building but also again on the packages note things were just getting turned away and that can be
