Summary
"Reframing" is my word of the week, and man has it been really helpful for me. Talking you through a helpful exercise that I've been leaning into when I journal in the morning, and recognizing that although in the moment it can be hard to zoom out — doing so can be the ultimate game-changer.

| 0:00.0 | Hey everybody, Emily Abadi checking in here for five minute Friday coming to you from |
| 0:25.1 | A-G studio. Man, this was a good week for me and I was like sitting here as I was thinking |
| 0:33.2 | about what I was going to say for this episode. I don't want to come off as like ungrateful or |
| 0:39.2 | that like life has just been a series of like blah lately. But it's been a long time since I've |
| 0:46.2 | been able to like take a step back and be like, I am so content at the conclusion of this week. |
| 0:51.6 | Like I feel very fulfilled and excited and I think it just goes hand in hand with all of the |
| 0:56.6 | fun things that are coming down the pipe for me, both personally and professionally in the next |
| 1:01.1 | coming weeks. I feel like myself and that feels really really good. My word of the week this week |
| 1:08.6 | and it's what I want to talk about for today's installment of five minute Friday is reframe. |
| 1:13.6 | I was having a chat with someone the other day and I was talking to them about a relationship |
| 1:18.2 | in my life that wasn't exactly or is not exactly how I kind of wish that it could be. |
| 1:25.4 | And I've said this on the show before but it takes a big person to allow someone in your life to |
| 1:30.1 | play a role that you wish that they wouldn't, whether that be because maybe you have for example |
| 1:35.4 | feelings for someone but it's just a botanic relationship or perhaps you really dig someone's |
| 1:41.6 | vibe and you hope that you can be close friends but they have some stuff going on in their life |
| 1:46.0 | and that is not really something that they are interested in pursuing at the moment. |
| 1:50.2 | Whatever the circumstance may be, I myself as I'm sure many of you do as well have some of |
| 1:55.9 | these relationships in my ecosystem and the person that I was talking to about one of them in |
| 2:01.4 | particular was saying to me, well, she asked, how can you reframe that relationship in your life? |
| 2:08.3 | Like instead of focusing on the negatives about this particular situation, maybe you can think |
| 2:13.9 | about what it is that that relationship can provide for you as it is now and I stopped |
| 2:21.2 | and I thought about that and I'm not saying that in every single situation it is easy to reframe |
