Hey, hey, Emily here. You are listening to Five Minute Friday from Hurtle. This week, I'm

rapping about failure. It is something that is crippling for so many. And it's understandable,

right? Because you don't work hard at something for it to not go as you hoped. But with that said,

there are different stakes that you are undergoing every week, right? Some things you may fail at,

and it's a bigger deal than other things. Maybe you feel as though you failed because you were

let go from a job or you feel as though you failed because you were in a long-term relationship

that didn't work out. Now it doesn't help with social media that sometimes we talk about

these things openly, publicly, and then

there is room for critique from so many others when things don't go to plan.

With all of this said, my urgency for you this week, my hope for you is that a fear of failure doesn't prevent you from trying.

Because in order to get to where you want to be, you need to be willing to try. In order to get to

where you want to be, you need to be willing to try. And that means that you also need to be willing to get

uncomfortable. I didn't know the first thing about podcasting when I started podcasting, but what I did

know was that where there's a will, there's a way. And so I started asking questions and trying

new things and understanding that if the worst thing that could happen

was that I started exactly back at square one, then candidly square one wasn't all that bad to

begin with. This is showing up for me right now in my life in maybe not as serious of a way.

I have this goal this year to get three pullups. If you follow me on

Instagram, you have been indulging in this journey with me. And I remember when I went to go

after my first pull up toward the end of 2024, I was sitting about to do a lap pull down.

And the lap pull down felt rather easy. And I thought to myself,

hmm, I wonder if I'm capable of doing a pull-up now, something that I hadn't tried in probably
