Summary

Sometimes in the moment it's hard to accept that one day, the tough stuff is going to help shape your being and help. It's impossible to think about the past 14 days in Paris without finding gratitude for the difficult moments I experienced in 2022. Talking about that, and sharing a new strategy for how I'll be answering your questions moving forward.

What's going on, everyone, everyone, Emily Boddy here. You are listening, reunited with Five Minute Friday from Hurtle. You know, it's so funny. The season breaks happen. And as much as I know, because you let me know that you love Mondays, when Fridays aren't in the feed, this is what I get the messages about

0:39.9

from all of you. So I'm happy that I make something that you enjoy as part of your weekly

0:45.3

routine. And I'm also happy that it's back for you today. Man, what a crazy couple of weeks.

I feel like there's so much I could say here. I talk a little bit

0:56.9

or write a little bit about my feelings in today's edition of the weekly hurdle. If you don't

1:02.8

get the newsletter yet, it's absolutely free. And you could receive it in your inbox every single

1:07.9

Friday. So make sure you tap on over to the show notes and make that happen.

They were long. I would get up earlier than I quote unquote had to because there were things

1:33.6

that I wanted to do to take care of myself, aka move my body, make time to have a good breakfast,

1:40.7

make time to write in the morning, do the things that I knew would fill my cup up so that I could

1:46.7

then pour back to myself and to other people. I'd often be up by 715 and then wouldn't go to bed

1:55.1

until after midnight. That's not my normal by any stretch of the imagination. But I felt as though so much of what I was doing

2:03.5

was so purposeful that I was flexing every muscle and skill that I have worked on over the last

2:12.5

decade simultaneously, from podcast recording and interviewing to hosting a live event, to networking and

2:22.1

meeting individuals, to interviewing for articles that I was working on, to pitching ideas

2:28.1

to outlets. Some of them knew I wrote my first items for outside on this trip to then creating content with Lauren and making

2:37.0

videos and writing captions and storyboarding and being creative and fun and different inventive

2:43.5

ways, right? Like so many different things were happening and they were all happening simultaneously.

2:48.8

And I couldn't help but reflect even in the
