| 0:00.0 | What's going on, guys? Welcome back to the Jeremy Scott Fitness podcast and radio show. |
| 0:04.4 | We're talking five keys to crush your goals. In 2018, honestly, any year works. We're just going to use 2018 since it's the year we're digging into here. |
| 0:14.3 | And these are just five simple truths to crush your goals. And if you guys have questions on these, feel free to holl wrap me. |
| 0:20.2 | So if you guys truly want to get things done, and these are going to be applicable across the board, |
| 0:24.0 | whether it be health, fitness, nutrition, your relationship, your career, we can tie these all together, |
| 0:29.5 | and you can take them and you can basically cross-references over the board. |
| 0:33.7 | So the five keys to crush your goals in 2018. |
| 0:41.1 | Number one, accept that taking responsibility is the most critical step you can make if you want to enjoy success in any transformation in life. Personal |
| 0:46.9 | accountability is a must. And 99% of the time, the reason you did or didn't get something done |
| 0:52.1 | is because of you. You can blame the economy, |
| 0:55.4 | your geographic location, your parents, whatever it may be, but at the end of the day, |
| 0:59.8 | if you're awesome enough, it all comes down to you and how hard you're willing to work, |
| 1:03.7 | how patient you're willing to be, and just putting in the things you need to do day |
| 1:07.0 | after day in order to get where you want to go. So again, personal responsibility is crucial. |
| 1:13.1 | Number two, if you want to be more successful, surround yourself with good people, |
| 1:18.1 | immerse yourself in a positive, goal-oriented, like-minded community, model people who you |
| 1:23.7 | want to be like, be friends with them, emulate their rituals, their habits, and behaviors. I have never met anyone who's ultra successful in any arena of life who did it 100% solo. Yeah, I know it all comes on to you and personal accountability we just touched on, but Jim Rome said it best. You're the average of the five people you associate with the most, and I believe that to be true. So if you look around the people who are in your inner circle, are you the average of those five people, you probably are. And if you're always the smartest person in the room or you're always the smartest and the best one of your friends at everything, I urge you guys to start walking into different rooms and maybe getting a few different friends. And not that you're saying you have to punt your friends and not be homies with them anymore, but level up your circle and it'll level up your life pretty quick. Number three, if you want to see better results, sometimes you just have to do better work. Oftentimes, probably more than you think it's fair in order to get things done, and that's just life. I say this all the time. If someone would have told me what I had to do 10 years ago to get to here in this business and this life, I don't know if I would have done it because it's daunting when you look at it as the macro. If you're breaking down in micro steps and you just do the work daily, you can get where you want to go. And again, when we're talking physical transformation, just because I'm a fitness guys, let's talk fitness here. You're going to look back on your life and the amount of work you had to do and realize it's more than you anticipated, but again, you're happy that you put it in. So what I'm saying is if you guys are going through a physical transformation, you want to change your body, look how you move how you feel understand that it's not always fair and life isn't fair |
| 2:54.6 | genetics are real some people have it good some people have the short end of the stick some people |
| 2:59.4 | start out on on third base and they don't have to put that much work and they can stay relatively lean and be |
| 3:03.3 | fit and some people have to work their ass off but that's okay nobody said it was going to be fair and complaining about your circumstances and being jealous of everybody else's stuff doesn't change where you're at and what you have to do. All you can worry about is yourself and blowing in your own lane. Again, you might have to do more work than this fair, but I promise if you put it in, you'll be happy that you did and the personal gratification will outweigh any amount of effort you had to put out there. Number four, enjoy the journey, you guys. You have to fall in love with the process. Even when you reach your destination, you realize that without enjoying the process, the outcome is rarely as rewarding as we'd hope for. The real price, in all reality, guys, is the journey. That's the real game. And once you understand |
| 3:41.8 | that and figure out and love what you're doing every day, you'll be successful. And if you feel to understand this concept, you'll be chasing a never ending goal until you die. And it's almost like when you reach the goal, it's almost deflating. So if the goal is like, I'm going to lose 10 pounds, or I'm going to get to this dress size, or I'm going to get on this magazine cover, And you get there and then you're like, okay, well now what? See, that's the point. It's almost like what's the next step and the next goal and the next venture. So that's why if you guys can figure out the journey is the game, you'll win everything across the board. Number five, invest in yourself. It'll provide you with far more worth than any monetary value you could ever have |
| 4:15.9 | don't take offense to this but most people have no clue on how to properly design a training program |
