They work 24 hours on, 24 hours off, and a few hours of sleep.

That stress, it builds in them.

And to have it just kind of lightened with a therapy dog visit is priceless.

Heidi Carmen runs a nonprofit called First Responder Therapy Dogs.

They send certified dogs to fire stations, police departments, 911 call centers,

and disaster zones across the country.
