Join me as we unravel the crippling power of excuses, or "excusitis," as coined by David Schwartz in his timeless self-help classic, "The Magic of Thinking Big." Together, we'll explore how the allure of waiting until you're 'ready' or 'good enough' can keep you in a perpetual loop of inaction and missed opportunities. Okay, my friends, with a new year on the horizon. Let's get real about something. Let's get real about

0:17.0

something. The most common excuses that hold us back. I read in a self-help book many,

0:26.2

many years ago that exquisitis is the failure disease. It's from one of my favorite self-help

0:32.3

books of all time, The Magic of Thinking Big, by David Schwartz. And he also taught me in that book that I read when I was 15 that in life you either have

0:41.6

exalts, sorry, excuses or results.

0:44.8

Excuses or results.

0:46.5

1:24.5

to provide a bit of context for each one in case you might be using it in a sneaky

1:29.6

invisible fashion. Okay? The first is this, I'm not ready. I'm not ready. And the reality is if

1:39.6

you're not ready for something, you wouldn't be tempted to do it, right? I'm not ready to climb Mount

1:43.1

Everest. It's also not

1:44.2

my desire, but that's just factual. So climbing Mount Everest isn't in my thoughts ever, right? It just isn't.

1:51.8

But if there's something that I want, but then, oh, I'm not ready, keeps popping up. I have to really

1:57.8

look at that. Because you don't have to wait. You don't have to wait if we're ready before you take a leap.
