Hey everybody.

As you know, I try not to make this podcast about the news of the day.

But sometimes stuff happens just as I'm about to record my intro.

And I'm doing this the day after Trump suggested injecting disinfectant

into your bloodstream as a way of killing the coronavirus. Well, look, the president was spitballing.

Sometimes you come up with your best ideas when you're spitballing, and sometimes

you just have to think outside the box. And injecting disinfectant into your veins is an outside the box

idea. And it was not a good one.

It is a way that some people kill themselves.

But look, chemotherapy is rough on people, and it's used for good. So you don't want to discourage this kind of unfettered thinking.

And I mean unfettered. By that, I mean any knowledge, for example, of how the human body works, because that knowledge is going to hold you

back if you're trying to think outside the box. For example, hydroxychloroquine.

So an NIH study found it to be ineffective and dangerous.

But as the president said, you have nothing to lose unless, you know, in your case,

it causes irregular heart rhythms and kills you.

And I don't mean that sarcastically.

Well, just as I sat down and record this, President Trump started tweeting about a new drug

that he's found that he's very high on.

So many trials you wouldn't believe.
