Hi, this is Lily DeHoya Sanderson, and you're listening to Choosing Glory. Thank you for joining me.

Today we're talking about Section 135, and it's all about Joseph Smith and, of course, Hiram

with him that were martyrs to the restoration

of the gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days.

I hope we love these men and I hope that our love for them grows every time we understand at deeper and more profound levels how the gospel blesses our lives.

Of course, we don't worship Joseph Smith or any other human being.

We worship Jesus Christ. We worship God the Father and his son, Jesus Christ.

But that doesn't mean we cannot recognize our debts to those who've come before. And the

prophet of the restoration of the gospel is an incredible character. We're going to talk just

a little bit about that. There's no way to cover what I feel for Joseph Smith today alone,

but I'm going to give you some thoughts. First, I'm just going to mention that I just want to go

quickly into a current event that maybe you noticed.

There's so many things going on in the world right now. It's kind of crazy to try to keep up with

a lot of corruption everywhere. You know, I mean defiance against law and order. They've elected

a communist mayor in New York City, the financial capital of the world.

That is certainly the financial capital of the U.S., but it goes beyond that.

I mean, there are crazy things happening.

In fulfillment of prophecy, I mean, we shouldn't even be that surprised.

That doesn't mean we can't be sad about it, but I hope we kind of recognize

that these things are all fulfillment of prophecy. The Lord has given us plenty of warning about how

things would be in the last days. I refer to this often, and I did look it up the other day,

so let me get it right
