This week we're talking about sections 89 to 92 in the church curriculum of scripture study,

and again, I'm going to treat these with a really light touch.

So if you want a little more content, you can always look back four years to the audio podcast that I started in the middle of the DNC year.

But we'll touch on this a little bit and see where we can go.

I'm going to start with a couple of current events.

Anyway, they just make you shake your head.

You know, things are going on in our crazy world.

But I do see all of this as precursor to Christ's coming.

I just don't think we knew how bizarre it would look, but it's bizarre what we're seeing.

And it can be frightening,

but I am loving the phrase that Elder Razband used when he was speaking about President Nelson's

joyful optimism when he looked forward to the second coming or spoke of the coming of the Lord

in glory. I think that's our ticket right there, brothers and sisters.

We need to be joyfully optimistic

and try to temper the desperation that some of us feel.

It's easy to start to feel desperate or anxious,

but it's not useful.

It's not useful.

We need to keep living in this sphere, live the life that we are given, as unwelcome as parts of it may be, or as difficult as it can seem to be in our trials and in our challenges and what's happening in our relationships and our families.

You know, nobody is exempt these days from the onslaughts of Satan and the troubles in the world.

But we are here to rise above through Christ.
