Hi, this is Lily DeHoya Sanderson, and you're listening to Choosing Glory. Thank you for joining me as we this week are in our curriculum talking about Doctor and Covenant sections 85 to 87. These are pretty short sections, but they're kind of sandwiched in between these two

powerful sections that get a week to themselves. We talked last week a little bit about the

Oathen Covenant of the Priesthood, and next week it's Section 88, which has often been called

the Olive Leaf section. It's a long section that has powerful information about the Three Kingdoms again and the operations and glory of God's plans. So, anyway, a lot of information there to discuss next week.

I'm trying to give a little bit lighter treatment.

a little bit of what's going on

again during this time. And the restoration is a busy time. There are so many things going on,

and there are a lot of things going on personally for Joseph and Emma as they're starting their

young family. And they have trials on every side. November 6th of 1832, Emma gave birth to Joseph Smith

the third. Joseph Smith, the prophet of the restoration, is Joseph Smith Jr. His father was also

named Joseph Smith, and now he has a son that they've named Joseph Smith III.

This is a child that survived to adulthood, and that was not common.

Joseph and Emma had nine biological children, including a set of twins that died on the day of their birth.

And you may remember, we spoke about this one that including a set of twins that died on the day of their birth.

And you may remember we spoke about this one that occurred in the kind of historical timeline that John and Julian Murdoch had also had twins right around that same time, within days of the Smith twins.
