Welcome to Part 2 of this week's curriculum, sections 30 to 36 of the Doctrine Covenants.

Here's my hopefully little quicker current event issue.

You may have noticed, maybe you don't waste as much time as I do listening to the news.

Part of that is I'm still looking for distractions in my grief,

but part of it is that I am quite fascinated by the fulfillment of prophecy

as evidenced by societal change and sadly deterioration,

and this is about that deterioration.

Again, I spend a lot of time looking at the good, believe it or not, and celebrating that

we have clear signs of fulfillment of prophecies concerning the second coming of the Lord.

Our prophets are obviously trying to prepare us to be a Zion people.

And I hope we are really focused on a more, well, how is it that President Nelson put it, a more focused discipleship?

It's a great opportunity that we have to live in this day.

And even those of us who are limited in a lot of ways can contribute by choosing celestial glory,

creating lives that are more fit for the kingdom, more fit to participate in Zion. At any rate, that's not happening in our society

in general, even though again, there is good news, and we celebrate all those who are turning

to God, turning to Christ,

and we see the fulfillment of those prophecies that many will come from all different parts

of the world. But amongst this general decay, we see this loss of civility. And I realize that

media amplifies those things. So I'm not saying

that there have been times where people were all polite and all civil. But it is definitely a

deterioration. And of course, this was prophesied. One of the famous prophecies is in Timothy,
