I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Friday, April 17, 26. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers. The Niners signed

cornerback Jack Jones a little while ago and well, things just got a little more interesting

on that front because Jones was a guest on the Caps Off podcast and got into a discussion

about the toughest positions to play in football, he took issue with the fact

that people think quarterback is number one.

You can make quarterback easy to play.

Like, you know what I'm saying?

And I think that was like Cam Newton's argument about Brock Purdy.

Like, you know what I'm saying?

They was making quarterback easy for him to play.

Like, like, you can hand the ball off 20 times with Christian McCaffrey and then dump it off 10 times to Christian McCaffrey and then dump it off another 10 more times to George Kittle. Yeah, that's true. That's true. So now it's like, wow, he has these crazy stats, but it's like he haven't did anything. There's a no knock on Brock Perry. Of course not. I just use him like example.

But he's a good example.

Because Cam Newton brought that up, you know what I'm saying?

But I think they can make quarterback easy.

It's like at the same time, quarterback can be hard.

It's like a position like somebody like maybe like a Tom Brady or a Pat Mahomes who's really like or even Aaron Rogers somebody who's like

really dissecting their defense and making passes downfields and making whole shots and then now

that's like okay now now it's a different level you know what I'm saying but like as far as putting

in number one I wouldn't put it number one because it's like you can change it. You know what I'm saying? Interesting. But cornerback, you can't change it because no matter what, you're going to be playing against the fastest guys every week. The big guys every week. These guys still can catch the ball because they're in the NFL, so they're getting paid to catch the ball. So it's like that doesn't really change.

Each week it may be like you play a better receiver. So it's like it get a little harder. You know what I'm saying? But it's like it's still hard every week. Quarterback could be easy this week because I handed it the ball off 40 times. You know what I'm saying? Now there's a lot to unpack here. First, I want to be fair. This podcast came out a week ago, but it was recorded before Jones signed with the 49ers. He was a free agent at the time. Just want to make that known. Now, saying all that, I do wonder how this is going to play in the locker room a little bit. Brock hears things. Okay? He does have a little bit of rabbit ears. Remember when Patrick Peterson was talking to all that crap about him? And then Brock goes out in week one and throws two touchdowns on him in the first game of the season. And then afterwards, when Brock got asked about it, he said, oh, was that really on Patrick Peterson? Like he pretended like he didn't know. He knew. And I, listening to this
