Coming up on the show today, the $40.9ers have the easiest schedule in the NFL

and the argument against paying Brock Purdy, a contract of $50 million annually, that I keep hearing that is just fundamentally

wrong. I know there are reasons to not want to pay a quarterback, but this particular one,

I hear a lot, and it's bad. So I'll tell you that. But first, I just want to mention the Lakers

got eliminated from the NBA playoffs. It's been a few days. I've been waiting to talk about this.

A theory that I have floated on this show before back when JJ Reddick got the job and did his introductory press conference when he did a whole lot of just kind of talking down to people.

And I've held this theory for a long time.

And as a former radio host, a now podcaster, I'm an authority on this subject.

I think sometimes, and it's easy to see it when it happens, there are hosts, let's say radio host or now podcast host, who do so much hosting.

If you do a radio show, you're doing maybe four hours a day, three hours a day, every day, over and over and over.

I mean, I know for myself, I definitely have exceeded the old Malcolm Gladwell 10,000 hours.

And I think what happens is that these guys who host shows like that, hours and hours and

hours, they become that person.

And when I say that person, what I mean is the person who just stream of consciousness

talks on and on and on.

And anybody at the dinner table who's got to take, well, they're just a caller or a co-host.
