Hey there, it's Trish Blackwell, and you're listening to The Confidence Podcast episode 499. We're talking about how to be the most positive person that you can be, the positive version of yourself, but in particular being positive when you feel negative or when you feel discouraged, because it's not always easy, but it's always worth it.

Because when you show up, you're not just showing up for yourself, but my prayer is that you show up because there are others waiting for you to show up.

This work that you're doing to become a better version of yourself, yes, is to create a better life for yourself.

But it's to also impact those around you, because there's a ripple effect that goes far and wide, far beyond what you can see.

You show up so that the others around you also benefit from you showing up, because when you do, when you become that vibrant, that alive version of yourself, you change the world.

And so what we're talking about today, today's episode 499, we're talking about positivity, but not fluffy, defy, rainbows and sunshine, you have no problems, life is always good, positivity, that would be easy to be positive.

No one has an easy life. No one's story is easy.

And so one, I want to caution you to the stories that you tell yourself about other people's lives, because you know we do it.

We look at somebody who we think might be prettier or smarter, or have a happier life than us, or have a better body, and we go, well, it's because they don't have problems.

If Biden, if that had it easier, you guys, we don't, everyone has a story. Everyone has overcome something.

Now for some people, some things are easier for them than others, but you also have things that have come to you easier than has come to others.

So when you find your brain going to a place of comparison, I want to, I want to remind you that the exit ramp off of comparison is celebration, celebrate that they're an example of what is possible to celebrate that they remind you that you do want those things that you're working towards, and they do matter to you.

Celebrate that that God has created such a diversity of people and that there's no one personal light.

Celebrate the fact that you are required to show up in this world and that there are people who are waiting for you to live fully that they might be inspired, that they might be called up.

And so you showing up and being positive, not all the time, but especially when you feel negative or discouraged.

That's what we are coaching on today, what to do about how to change your brain, how to reframe your thoughts and be positive when you feel negative, when you feel discouraged, when you feel like you're waking up and doing the same day again, when you feel like you're plateauing, when you feel that you're working the business, but it's not growing.

When you feel that you're nurturing your child, you were toddler or your teenager, and they're not hearing you.

When you feel like you're committed to the weight loss, but that numbers not changing, so you're trying to guard your mind from saying self-critical things and from being impatient, but it's hard.
