0:04.0	Earlier this year I spoke with Johns Hopkins University Professor and Sc Niskanin fellow, Steve Telly is
0:14.7	about something called the abundance agenda.
0:17.3	Basically the idea is if we look at and diagnose American politics right now
0:21.2	in so many different categories, everything from housing to
0:24.4	manufacturing to technology and infrastructure and of course energy, we see that Americans just
0:30.4	don't have enough access to these goods and services.
0:33.9	The abundance agenda is putting forth this idea that if we orient our politics and
0:37.7	policy when providing these goods we could move past the division of the post
0:41.8	2016 era. I'm excited then to follow up on so many
0:45.1	questions like got from listeners about the abundance agenda by speaking with
0:49.0	Derek Kaufman. Derek is the founder of something called the Inclusive Abundance Initiative and we build out all of the scaffolding around the abundance agenda and of course answer the question of where listeners who are interested in various can go moving forward.

1:22.0	What is abundance? That's a great question. I think abundance is
1:29.6	anti-scarcity and I think the reason that there's so much talk about abundance recently is because it emerged out of the response to the pandemic.
1:40.0	In the pandemic, we experienced scarcity viscerally and firsthand.
1:46.0	Everything from not being able to buy toilet paper to not being able to buy computer chips.
1:52.0	If you looked at rents, they went through the roof. to not being able to buy computer chips.
