Luke chapter 24, verses 24 through 27.

Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said,

but him they did not see.

And he said to them,

O foolish ones and slow of heart to believe all of the prophets have spoken,

was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?

And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

I love this conversation on the Emmaus Road with these men who are unknowingly talking with Jesus about Jesus. And in verse 27, this is such

an important verse for understanding the entire Bible.

When Jesus started with Moses and all the prophets,

and he interpreted to them in all the scriptures,

the things concerning himself,

the things about Jesus is what Moses and all the prophets were writing about.

They were talking, they were writing about me, Jesus says, although they don't realize

this is Jesus at that point.

This is the beauty of the Bible.

Oh, there's so many things that make the Bible glorious as the Word of God.

But one of those things is the unity of the Bible, how it all points to Jesus.

All of it, from beginning to end and everywhere in between.

This book written over multiple centuries by multiple authors, human authors, that is,

inspired by one divine author to give one overarching plot story and not just overarching, but every single detail,
