Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

| 0:07.6 | aligned with the truth of God. That's why we are here. My name is Carrie Green, |
| 0:11.4 | retired pastor and brother in Christ. |
| 0:14.0 | And I am simply here to encourage your soul in the Lord this morning. |
| 0:18.0 | I want to do so by starting a brief series here in Psalm chapter 103. |
| 0:24.2 | The reason I've chosen to make it a brief series |
| 0:27.1 | is because Psalm 103 is full of such beautiful, |
| 0:31.8 | beautiful phrasing and such beautiful content that goes deep into my soul |
| 0:36.8 | and I'm hopeful that it will in yours as well. |
| 0:39.2 | We're just going to start with verse number one in Psalm 103 and it reads this way |
| 0:44.5 | bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name so stop for a moment and recognize what David is doing here. |
| 0:55.3 | He is encouraging his own soul. He's preaching to himself. I've heard some people |
| 1:01.4 | call it that. He's reminding himself. He's reminding himself that the Lord deserves his blessing. |
| 1:09.0 | Now this is not the kind of blessing where David is contributing something to the Lord's well-being, not at all. |
| 1:16.2 | He's saying praise the Lord. |
| 1:17.8 | That's what he means by saying bless the Lord. |
| 1:20.8 | He's saying, my soul and all that is within me should be blessing his holy name. |
| 1:27.0 | Let's continue in verse 2. Bless the Lord, oh my soul and forget not all his benefits. |
| 1:35.0 | Boy, this really strikes home because I feel like I get caught up in the busyness of my day |
| 1:40.0 | and the various stresses that come into my life from time to time and I forget the benefits of God. I forget all that he has done in my life and all that he is doing in my life. |
| 1:55.0 | And I don't want to forget his benefits. I don't want to forget the things that God has done. |
| 2:02.0 | David expands on that by giving us some examples. He says, |
