Summary

I received some amazing feedback from Episode 47: I See Someone Handsome (How To Look In The Mirror).  I wanted to take some time to go through a couple messages specifically, as they were powerful and deeply impacted me.    As a direct result of the feedback I got from Shameless Moms Anne and Meg, I felt compelled to be a little more bold than normal in a recent social media post and in sharing the photo that goes with this episode (the internet has never met my bare belly before!)    I’m so glad Episode 47 was impactful for you, my lovely and super rad listeners. I’m so glad you’re looking in the mirror and seeing things a little differently than just a week ago. I want to inspire you to recognize your radness every damn day. It can take time and practice to change your self talk. It can take a tremendous amount of humility and courage to “fake it till you become it”. But it is entirely possible to change your relationship with YOU by taking Radical Responsibility in your self care and self love habits.    It starts today. It starts with you. It starts with just a little inspiration. I hope this episode, in conjunction with Episode 47, are the inspiration you need to See Someone Handsome.    Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to the Shameless Mom Academy. I'm your host, Sarah Dean, and I'm here to give you

0:08.7

and other passionate, dedicated moms the tools you need to bridge the gap between motherhood

0:13.0

and living the life of your dreams. I'm also here to help you be a little more shameless every day,

0:18.5

because if you aren't building a life, you're extraordinarily

0:20.8

proud of, what kind of legacy are you building? So let's dive in. This is the Shamedless Mom Academy

0:27.6

episode 49. Hello, Shameless Moms. Today is a big day. I'm excited to be here because today is

0:36.4

egg day. Okay, you probably wonder what

0:39.3

egg day is. Egg day is the point you get to an IVF when you actually get your eggs taken out.

0:44.7

So it's egg retrieval. It's a surgery. This happens after about two weeks of one million

0:50.1

doctors appointments and one million shots and a very bruised belly. I actually have to

0:55.7

thank a few of our listeners who inspired this episode today and also inspired the photo I just

1:01.9

posted on Instagram and Facebook of my IVF belly. I am not someone who ever posts pictures

1:08.3

of my belly. I am not someone who ever wears a bikini. My belly is like

1:12.7

not my thing I want to show off. And it's kind of funny. There's in Eastern medicine,

1:18.2

there is this philosophy around like the belly and how it holds a lot of emotion and a lot of

1:23.2

feeling. And I don't know about it very in depth. I just know this from a couple of practitioners

1:26.9

sharing this with me. But for me, it's like a super sensitive area. And I've always been someone

1:32.7

who's been like physically self-conscious of my belly and just I don't like people touching my

1:37.5

belly. I've had body work like massage on my belly. Oh my God. It like makes me jump out of my

1:41.6

skin. So anyways, I just posted a photo of my IVF bruises,

1:46.6

which in order to show you the bruises, I have to show you my belly. And so it's a picture of my

1:51.5

torso all over social media, super uncomfortable for me. But I also felt like this is me
