How do we ensure that the Democrats and pro-democracy candidates win races at every level of government

and hold on to or preferably increase our razor-thed margins in the House and Senate?

And today I want to start here with a recent Fox News poll, according to which 81% of Americans

favor term limits in Congress, 66%, favor 18 year mandatory, sorry term limits for Supreme

Court justices, 71% favor mandatory scotus retirement age, 46% favor expanding scotus and I bet

that number would be bigger if people actually understood what that meant. 55% favor replacing

electoral college for presidential elections with the popular vote. We already know that over 70%

of Americans support gun safety legislation, marriage equality, abortion rights, government funding

for child care, paid maternity leave, raising the minimum wage and on and on and on all of these

things are things that elected Democrats and only Democrats support. So how is it possible? I

know many of us ask ourselves that the Democrats are actually in danger of losing the House and

possibly the Senate in the 2022 midterms. What is more important than these issues? What are people

actually voting for? So today I want to talk to you guys and welcome Brian Julie Jenkert.

Help people first of all understand the systemic challenges that the Democrats face and also

help them understand how even though it feels different, like it feels like this is sort of a

national emergency and this this upcoming election is sort of a referendum on American democracy.

These are all local and state level races so national polling doesn't necessarily give us an

accurate picture of where we are. So Jen I want to start with you law professor and author of
